In keeping with the New Year, the topic of this week’s challenge is Beginning.
New Year’s Day I went on my first photography “meetup.” I signed up for the group on the Meetup web site late last year, but I hadn’t been able to find time to attend any of the events except a photography show.
New Year’s Day dawned sunny, but very cold. It would have been easy to just stay warm in my home, but I had resolves to go out picture-taking at least once a week in 2014, despite the weather (so I will have plenty of pictures to share with you bloggers).
We began our meander at a marshy park where there was free parking.
There were only 9 of us, but I had a great time. The small group was nice; we talked and walked along the waterfront in Plymouth. You can see how bundled up we were.
In the beginning the only others we encountered were seagulls.
We passed the bridge to the jetty…too cold to walk out there.
We finally reached the harbor, where there was some ice between the boats.
After 1 1/2 hours, the extra hearty souls kept going, but three of us walked back to our cars, where we saw some other bundled-up walkers just beginning.
Good for you for getting out there, weather notwithstanding. Loved your seagull shots especially!

Thanks, Tina. 🙂 I actually had a great time and also learned a bit. Some of the people are EXCELLENT photographers and I watched them and listened to them. Can’t wait to go again…
