I’ve been absent from Jake’s Challenge the last couple of weeks, but I’m back! His topic this week is Tourist Attraction…what a great topic, Jake!
Last fall my cousin and her daughter came to visit from Colorado. They were only in Massachusetts a couple of days, but we managed to hit a couple of the big tourist attractions for my area: Plymouth (where the Pilgrims landed) and Quincy (birthplace of two U.S. Presidents).
We saw the Mayflower II, but we didn’t have time to go on the ship. It is a replica, as the original ship has been gone a long time!
On the day they left, we visited President John Adams home, Peacefield. President John Quincy Adams was born there and built a library on the grounds after his father had died. The library houses the bible made famous in the movie, “Amistad.” Β It was stolen years ago and recovered in a local gym locker!

Thanks for the comment, Meg! I love Plymouth! Not necessarily the “attractions” (you know how people look at the ROCK and say, “that’s it?”), but I love walking around the town…
And I lived in Quincy for 7 years…loved it while I was there!
BTW, I was going to comment on your contribution…I lived in Knoxville for 1 1/2 years, we went to Gaitlinburg a couple of times…it’s fun going up the tram.
